Cryopreservation is a technique that freezes tissue in order to preserve it. In oncofertility, cryopreservation can be used to preserve sperm, eggs, ovarian tissue, testicular tissue, and embryos.

Northwestern University Biology Investigations in Oncofertility, or NUBIO, is based on the cutting-edge field of oncofertility, a collaborative discipline that addresses the complex health care and quality-of-life issues concerning young cancer patients whose fertility may be threatened by their disease or its treatment.
